| Travelling and Being in Italy
Part
of the experience of buying a property in Italy is
actually coming here to view it. That in itself is
an exciting as well as important step in the direction
of a new life or the addition of a holiday home to
your existing life elsewhere. So you want to do it
properly, securely and enjoyably.
From your arrival in Italy and throughout your stay
we are able to provide accommodation as well as accompanied
travel for visitors wishing to view properties with
ease and peace of mind. From our network of rented
accommodation, both self catering and B&B, we
will place you in locations close by to your chosen
potential purchase, making the job of viewing very
much simpler and enjoyable.
We can arrange transport to and from airports as
well as between your place of stay and the properties
being viewed if required.
Though you will probably do very well by yourself
once you get to know the country and language, we
highly recommend that you make use of our transfer
service and accompanied viewing (for more tha one property), even though you may
choose to stay at a hotel or with friends.
If you wish more information regarding these services
please contacts us and we will be happy to oblige.
Public Transport
Public transport in Italy is generally good and inexpensive, particularly train travel. The cost of first class travel by train is very reasonable and is highly recommended should you choose this form of getting about.
Buses are also a good form of transport, and though coaches are of a high standard, for long journeys the train is a far better choice.
Taxis are not generaly advisable for trips other than a last resort for airport transfer, and even then they are expensive. If you do not wish to make use of our Transfer Service, then most Italian airports have a good bus or rail network that is easy to use and inexpensive. Moreover, if you call for a taxi to meet you at a location, you are charged the cost of the taxi getting to you as well as taking you away.
Taxis are all regulated but you should check that the meter is running and obtain some sort of idea about the price from the driver before you get in. Generaly, however, the advice is the same as for taxis anywhere...
Car Hire
In recent years the car hire idustry has improved in Italy with prices and service comeing more or less in line with the rest of Europe. However, it can be a frustrating experience trying to hire a car and also watching out for some of the clauses in the rental. Please ask us first for advice. |
